As part of our post-fire renovations, we plan to restore the facade of the 134 Franklin St building to look more like it did when it was first built. The Design Review Board approved the facade changes, and we have been issued a building permit to commence the overall reconstruction project. This was a huge step. The extensive damage required a complete set of architectural and engineering plans to be completed for the rebuild. Those plans were submitted and approved. The City Codes Department did a stellar job with a quick turnaround.
Unfortunately, our potential settlement of a significant part of our lawsuit with the City is NOT progressing. We agreed on the terms of a possible settlement in May. Furthermore, under the mayor's direction, city attorneys are PREVENTING the completion of the required settlement documents. We had hoped to have this resolved by now to build the alley behind the pub in conjunction with the rebuild project. Unfortunately, that hope is evaporating by the day.
Overall, still a good week. 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
